We Have to Start Somewhere
The second book is in the first draft stage, but I’m committed to having that done by June 24, 2019. Then come the other parts — second draft, focus group input, for-real-editing, designing the interior and cover, and launching on Amazon.
That’s plan A. I will also be meeting with lots of folks in my larger church in a couple of weeks who might have some insight as to whether or not there is a market for the book through some internal channels in the denomination. Time will tell. Currently, the book is called The Eloquent Lay Reader: A Step by Step Guide to a Fulfilling Ministry Proclaiming God’s Word, but that could change.
This current book is a passion project of mine, because I have served as a Lay Reader for decades, and have academic and professional training in public oratory. I see Lay Readers struggling in churches, either because of a lack of public speaking experience, or a lack of Biblical literacy that might have helped them with the reading, or both. I’d love to help those Lay Readers succeed at this amazing ministry.
If you or anyone you know might be interested in a book like this, please send them our way. God bless!
